(Freehold, NJ) – The Freehold Township Education Foundation’s (FTEF) annual Monte Carlo Night Fundraiser, sponsored by Trinity Solar, was held at the beautiful Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale on Friday, November 14, 2014. Over 240 guests turned out to support Freehold Township schools, raising more than $35,000 which will allow them to officially “connect” 100% of the classrooms in the Freehold Township School District. Guests were treated to a host of popular casino games which consisted Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and Poker, and then exchanged their chips for tickets to win raffle baskets contributed by members of the community. A limited 50/50 raffle was also held with cash prizes totaling over $6,000 awarded to three guests.

“We are thrilled to have the support of everyone who attended and the community sponsors that stepped up to help the schools, particularly Trinity Solar our event sponsor” said Doreen Bierman, Monte Carlo Night Chairperson. “We were also extremely lucky to have such a wonderful committee who worked tirelessly to put this event together,” noted Bierman. “Everyone gave 100 percent to create a fantastic evening.”  read more

iPlay – Connect Us!

The Freehold Township Education Foundation (FTEF) hosted its second annual fundraiser event at iPlay America to raise funds for its Connect Us! campaign Monday, February 24. The event helped raise approximately $10,100, which will be split 80% to the FTEF (just under $8,100) and 20% to our PTOs (just over $2,000).

The family fun night event was attended by 676 pre-K through 8th grade school students and teachers from theFreehold Township School District.  The winner of the trophy for the greatest ratio of attendance out of total roster is Laura Donovan, with 136 or 28.1% attendees.

Congratulations to Laura Donovan!! Altogether, exactly one-sixth, or 16.7%, of the total student population attended the event.

The FTEF and iPlay fundraiser event was part of the FTEF fundraising program called “Connect Us!” The funds raised by the Connect Us! Campaign will ensure that every classroom in the Freehold Township School District is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that will provide interactive learning opportunities for all of our pre-K, elementary and middle school children.

A Night at the BlueClaws

We had a great turnout for our first annual BlueClaws outing on Friday night, May 11, 2012! 110 parents, teachers, students and staff gathered together in the BlueClaws’ Centerfield Cookout area. We enjoyed a 1 1/2 hour all-you-can-eat buffet and a terrific fireworks show after the game!

May 11th was “Teacher Appreciation” night at the stadium and we hope all the teachers in attendance felt appreciated on their special night. Some of our teachers got to go out on the field before the game and throw out the first pitch. Mrs. Snow from DDES and Dr. Kasun showed fabulous geographic prowess when they went head-to-head in a “Name that State Capital” game out on the field.

Please enjoy some pictures from the outing. We hope you will join us next year!

A Night on Broadway

ANoBsign.jpgThe fall fundraising event for the Freehold Township Education Foundation, “A Night on Broadway,” was held on November 3rd at the Radisson Hotel in Freehold. 160 attendees enjoyed an evening of festivity which included big band music provided by Mile High Entertainment as well as an impressive gift basket raffle and a silent auction of experience packages and memorabilia. Master of Ceremonies James Gregorio from News 12 New Jersey led an evening of celebration and recognition for the schools in Freehold Township. The evening opened with an inspiring performance by Stardust, a show choir from Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School led by teacher Jesse Ryan.

The foundation was pleased to accept a resolution recognizing the work of the FTEF presented by Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande on behalf of the New Jersey State Legislature. Dignitaries from the Township Committee and the Freehold Township Board of Education acknowledged the contributions of the foundation including the recent grant awards made on behalf of the William J. Setaro Building Blocks for Innovation Grant Program.

The $17,500 raised from the event will be used to fund ongoing grant programs through the foundation which support innovative and creative educational initiatives in the school district such as the recently awarded “iCollaborate” grant and the “Battle of Monmouth: History-to-Go” grant.”

A special thank you to the fall event committee for their outstanding work in planning and executing a successful event, and to local photographer Miguel Ramirez for donating his services to the evening. The foundation is indebted to the Radisson as well as the many businesses, organizations and individuals who donated good and services to the gift basket raffle and helped ensure a successful evening of fundraising.

Congratulations to our Grand Prize 50/50 Raffle Winners:

Grand prize $3500 – Christy DiGregorio
2nd prize $1000 – Sean O’Connor
